Welcome to Disability Services
Disability Advisers work alongside you to identify how your disability or condition impacts your teaching, learning, assessment and access to physical and digital resources, and to help coordinate support and adjustments.
Disability Services work with students who have a disability or condition which impacts on their study. This includes students or applicants who have:
- Specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia
- Ongoing mental health difficulties
- Long-term medical conditions such as diabetes, cancer, Crohn's disease
- Social communication difficulties such as autism
- ADHD
- Physical or mobility difficulties
- Hearing impairments or hearing loss
- Visual impairments

Disabled Students Induction Events 2025
If you are joining the University in September 2025 and you would like to find out more about the disability-related support, please sign up to one of our induction events. There is an induction for autistic students on Tuesday 16 September and a larger on-campus event on Thursday 18 September. Please see the Disabled Students Induction Events web page for more information and to access the booking form.
Please book a place on either or both events by Monday 8 September 2025. If you miss the booking deadline but would still like to attend, please email disability@hud.ac.uk.
