Welcome to Disability Services
Disability Advisers work alongside you to identify how your disability or condition impacts your teaching, learning, assessment and access to physical and digital resources, and to help coordinate support and adjustments.
Disability Services work with students who have a disability or condition which impacts on their study. This includes students or applicants who have/are:
- Specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia
- Ongoing mental health difficulties
- Long-term medical conditions such as diabetes, cancer, Crohn's disease
- Social communication difficulties such as autism
- ADHD
- Physical or mobility difficulties
- D/deaf or hard of hearing
- Visual impairments

Do you have exams in January 2027?
If you have exams in January 2027 and you are concerned about the impact of a disability or long-term condition on your exams, please make an appointment with Disability Services as soon as possible and before Wednesday 2 December 2026. This is the cut off point to finalise exam support. You will be asked to provide supporting information about your disability and to register with Disability Services before this cut-off date, so get in touch as soon as you can.
If you already have exam support in your Personal Learning Support Plan, check this now to make sure it is accurate. Please look out for an email on Thursday 10 December 2026 which outlines your exam details, including any PLSP adjustments you require. If the adjustments are not correct, please email myexams@hud.ac.uk immediately, thank you.
